A night of country music at Tringali Barn will give St. Johns County a chance to do more than sing along. On Saturday, September 26, Concerts For A Cause will return to Heritage Farms with platinum-selling singer-songwriter Jackson Dean headlining an evening dedicated to supporting young men aging out of foster care.
This year's concert will benefit St. Augustine Youth Services' Independent Living Village, currently under construction on the organization's campus. The eight-townhome development is designed to give young men transitioning out of foster care a place to live as they take their next steps into adulthood, while keeping them connected to the support and resources offered by SAYS.
For Heritage Farms owner and operator Chris Shee, the project is personal. Shee has been involved with the Independent Living Village from the beginning, and the concert continues a tradition he started - bringing live music and local philanthropy together.
“Combining my love of music with giving back to local causes in need is a perfect combination of heartwarming happiness,” Shee says. “It's an honor to have the ability to bring the community together for concerts with world-famous musicians, all with the purpose of helping organizations that ensure the next generation has the tools to succeed and thrive.”
Over the past five years, Concerts For A Cause has hosted six concerts and donated more than $350,000 to local charities. This year's event continues that effort while helping move the Independent Living Village closer to completion.
The evening's headliner, Jackson Dean, broke onto the Nashville country music scene with his 2022 debut album, “Greenbroke,” which featured the No. 1 single “Don't Come Lookin'.” Since then, he has earned an Academy of Country Music nomination for New Male Artist of the Year. Fresh off an international headlining tour and the release of his newest album, “Magnolia Sage,” Dean will bring his energetic performance to the Tringali Barn stage.
Gates open at 5:30pm, with music beginning at 7pm. General admission tickets are $100 and include first-come, first-served lawn seating, while private pods for up to eight guests start at $1,000. Guests can bring their own chairs and coolers, with food trucks available on-site.
Set among 54 acres of Old Florida wilderness beside Matanzas State Park, Tringali Barn provides a fitting setting for an evening built around music, community and giving back. As the Independent Living Village takes shape, this year's concert offers another way to help create a foundation for young people beginning their lives beyond foster care.
