Somewhere between a warm, flaky pastry and a cup of espresso poured over chocolate, you’ll find that romanticizing life becomes a very easy thing to do. It’s for this purpose that Claudia and James Rocabado opened La Roseta, an exquisitely chic coffee shop located just off of The Plaza de la Constitución.
“Thanks to our Colombian roots, coffee is a way of life.” Says Claudia, “And we want to ensure that every drink we serve pays homage to that.”
La Roseta takes inspiration from the small cafés that dot the Italian coastline. Just two steps off of a cobblestone street and bursting with character, every corner of the shop is a fresco of European charm. Signature drinks like their honey lavender latte are crafted to complement the picturesque interior; crowned in a flowery cold foam and constructed in layers for the perfect photo.

Claudia remarks how her time in Europe—off of Lake Cuomo and along the French coast—has informed what she stocks in her patisserie,
“We bake our goods fresh every day, and our hallmark pastry is the bomboloni. These Italian donuts come filled with a fluffy pistachio, limoncello, or vanilla custard.” she explains, “Each month, we’ll cycle out a special flavor inspired by a region of Europe. We encourage our patrons to visit us each month as we take them on a tour of each country’s most iconic flavors.”
Romanticizing life is as much about treating yourself as it is about aesthetics. La Roseta offers both in no short supply. The second wave coffee served by the team leans hard into Italian tradition. The swirling golden espresso comes served with a small bite of dark chocolate, the french press for two pairs deliciously with biscotti, and the whole of the menu rings of a couple dedicated to bringing their fond memories of sipping cappuccino off Lake Cuomo back home to share with St. Augustine.
