Family of Tristyn Bailey Starts Foundation in Her Name

Almost four years have passed since Stacy Bailey woke up on Mother’s Day to her daughter Tristyn missing. She and her husband, Forrest, called for help. What began as a search for a missing child quickly turned into a murder investigation just hours later. Tristyn was found in their neighborhood, the victim of a brutal attack at the age of only thirteen.

Justice in this case was a guilty verdict and life in prison, but for Tristyn’s family, true justice comes in making sure her life continues to have purpose by choosing to build something good in the face of so much loss. As they transition from courtroom to classroom, the Baileys channel their devotion into prevention and positive impact through a foundation in their daughter’s honor. The Tristyn Bailey Foundation works to carry forward Tristyn’s legacy through its Four Pillars of Good Acts:

Character Development is about instilling values that Tristyn embodied—kindness, integrity, and courage. By working with schools and community groups, the foundation encourages young people to lead with empathy and make good choices that build each other up.

Victim Advocacy ensures that no family has to walk through tragedy alone. Whether it’s guiding loved ones through the legal system or offering emotional support, this pillar honors the memory of victims by standing firmly with those left behind.

Self-Defense and Self-Confidence programs aim to empower individuals—especially teens—with tools to stay safe and feel strong in their bodies and minds. The foundation partners with experts to teach awareness, boundary-setting, and personal safety strategies.

Social Media education equips families to navigate the complex digital world and the dangers it brings. From cyberbullying to online predators, the foundation raises awareness and provides practical tools to help keep kids safe in an ever-connected world.

Continuing their teamwork with organizations like the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJCSO) and Homeland Security they hope to expand their reach and impact on the community through the pages of SOCIAL Magazines in a regular column, creating an educational initiative focused on safety, awareness, and prevention for local families.
